Indian gooseberry, also known by its Hindi name ‘Amla,’ is rich in antioxidants, improve gastrointestinal health, treat diabetes, and has many more health benefits. Amla/Gooseberry Ginger Juice is a perfect health drink that provides a great number of health benefits to the human system. A perfect detox juice for hot sunny days to energized and refreshed. Health benefits of Amla are numerous it is rich in vitamin C, Amla enhances food absorption, balances stomach acid, fortifies the liver, nourishes the brain, and mental functioning. It also supports the heart functioning, strengthens the lungs, increases skin health, and acts as a body coolant. Amla is full of antioxidants as well.

Ingredients:

Amla/Gooseberry – 1/2 cup deseeded and chopped

Jaggery (powdered) or sugar – 1/2 cup

Ginger – 1 inch peeled and chopped

Lemon juice – 1 tsp

Cardamom – 2 no’s

Salt – 1 pinch

Water – 3 or 4 cups

 

Method:

Add chopped ginger and amla in a mixer jar, blend it to a paste, then add powdered jaggery/sugar and cardamom, blend it together.

Once you get a smooth liquid, add some more water, and blend the puree once again.

Strain the Gooseberry Ginger puree using a strainer into a jug and discard the remaining pulp, add lemon juice, stir. Adjust the salt and sugar to suit your taste.

Serve the chilled Gooseberry Ginger Drink with some ice cubes.
