Chicken Roast


A simple and tasty chicken dish to serve as a side dish or as a great appetizer, Chicken Roast is a shallow fried chicken, south Indian easy side dish with simple ingredients which is full of flavor and spices, a delicious blend of marinated chicken.


For marination –

Chicken – 500 gm

Turmeric – 1/2 tsp

Chilli powder – 1 or 1 1/2 Tsp

Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp

Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp

Lemon juice/ vineger – 1/2 tsp


To grind – 

Onion – 1 medium

Dry Kashmir chili – 5 no’s

Green chili – 1

Curry leaves – 1 spring

Lemon juice – 1 Tsp

Other ingredients –

Oil to shallow fry

Curry leaves – 2 or 3 springs

Rice flour – 1/2 cup





Rinse chicken, drain the water in it completely, take a bowl, all the ingredients to marinate, toss it well and set aside covered for 1 hr.


Add all the ingredients to grind except lemon juice, blend it to a fine paste, once it is done, add lemon juice mix well, then add it to the marinated chicken, toss it well.

Add rice flour, toss it well until it Coates evenly (no need to add water). Heat oil to shallow fry. when the oil is ready to shallow fry, arrange chicken so that it doesn’t touch each other.

Shallow fry on a medium flame for both sides until done. It takes around 10 to 12 mins.


Continue the same for remaining pieces in another batch. In the same oil, fry curry leaves until crisp, sprinkle it on the shallow fried chicken, serve hot.
