Ginger chicken dry recipe

Ginger Chicken is a classic semi gravy dish that goes well with rotis and as a side dish for rice. Adraki murg or ginger chicken is a mouth watering yummy chicken side dish which is prepared with onion, tomato, capsicum with chopped ginger sticks makes a aromatic and delicious chicken dish. It is also a easy to make recipe with simple ingredients.

Preparation time – 15 min

Cooking time – 15 min

Serves – 4

Ingredients – 

Chicken – 1 kg

Yogurt – 1/2 cup

Ginger garlic paste – 1tsp

Chilly powder – 2 tsp

Garam masala powder – 1 tsp

Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp

Coriander powder – 1 tsp

Salt to taste

Ginger – 2 inches Chopped into thin sticks

Curry leaves

Cashew nut – 3 tbs (optional)

Onion – 2 medium chopped

Tomato – 1 single chopped

Capsicum – 1 cup chopped

Green chilies – 3 to 4

Oil to fry

Method –

To make or to prepare ginger chicken –

Wash chicken in water rinse, drain the water in it. Heat a pressure pan, add 2 tsp of oil in it, when it is hot add i tsp of ginger garlic paste, saute til you get a fresh aroma, add chicken into it, add salt and a 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, mix . When water in the chicken absorbs fully add 1/2 cup of water and pressure cook for 1 or 2 whistles. Drain the water, collect the stock of it and keep ready.

Heat a pan by adding oil in it, when it is hot, add chopped ginger, saute, add green chilies

Saute for a while (not to burn or over roast)

Add curry leaves

Add chopped onion, stir fry til it turns to translucent. Add capsicum stir fry

Add chopped tomato, stir fry until it becomes soft in a medium flame.

Add chilly, garam masala, coriander, turmeric, saute

Add yogurt combine, Add chicken stock and bring it to boil for 5 min in a medium flame. Add salt to taste.

Bring it to a thick in consistency

Add chicken pieces into it, toss it well, close the lid of the kadai cook for 5 to 6 min

Stir fry to thick in consistency. Switch off the flame.

Transfer the dish to a serving dish, garnish it with fresh ginger sticks and chopped coriander and enjoy the dish as a appetizer or as a side dish for roti or rice.
