A fish fry is a great appetizer or a side dish for a meal. To make a fish fry it needs a good marination to absorb all the flavors and spices, this simple fish fry is coated with spices and rice flour then marinated, which can be used to Grill, shallow fry or Tawa fry.
King fish – 500 gms
Chilly powder – 2 tsp Adjust to your taste
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder – 1/4 Tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste – 1 Tsp (optional)
Rice flour – 2 or 3 tbs
Salt to taste
Lemon juice/vinegar – 1 Tsp
Clean the fish drain the water completely and keep ready.
Add all the dry spices, ginger garlic paste, rice flour in a bowl, add little by little water and make a thick paste as there are no lumps in it, add lemon juice/vinegar mix properly, the consistency of the paste must be not too thick or too thin.
Coat each fish with prepared mixture properly. Arrange it on a plate.
Set aside to marinate in a refrigerator at least 1 hr or for a long time for 1/2 a day of your choice/desire.
Remove the marinated fish from the refrigerator 30 min before you cook. Heat a shallow pan by adding oil in it, when it is hot, fry on the both sides until it turns golden brown. Take care to flip the fillet.
For shallow fry use oil as needed.
