Rava laddu recipe I Rave unde

Rave unde/rava laddu is a simple and quick sweet recipe, it is one of a traditional and yummy sweet dish. A perfect sweet to prepare for any festivals or for holidays in a short time, all you need fine rava, sugar, grated dry coconut, ghee, cardamom powder, dry fruits and  a little quantity of milk to make delicious Rave unde/ laddu.

Prepration time – 10 min

Cooking time – 10 min

Makes – 15 laddu’s

Ingredients – 


Chiroti rave / Fine rava /fine semolina /fine sooji – 1 cup

Sugar – 3/4 cup

Dry coconut (copra) – 1/2 cup

Milk – 3 tbs (warm)

Cashew nut – 2 tbs (broken into small pieces)

Raisin – 1 tbs

Cardamom – 4 no (peel and powdered)

Ghee – 3 tbs

Method – 

To make or to prepare Rava unde/laddu – 

Heat a pan by adding 1 tbs of ghee in it, when it is hot add cashew and raisins, fry it in a medium flame until it turns golden brown in color, raisins must plump, remove and set aside.


In the same pan add remaining ghee into it,


Add Rava into it, fry in a medium low flame till it turns light brown.


Please take care while you fry semolina, do not over roast or under cook it, as it spoils the taste of the dish. Always fry it on a medium flame to light brown. Transfer it to a wide plate/bowl, warm the grated dry coconut.


Add sugar in a mixer jar and make a fine powder, keep ready.


Add all the ingredients in a wide plate /bowl, mix together


Add/sprinkle 2 tbs of warm milk into it, mix, add remaining milk, (take care while you add milk, the consistency of the mixture must be easy to make laddu’s, but not watery, so add milk, check the consistency.)


Take a small portion of prepared mixture


Make the small or equal size of laddu’s from it, Leave them on a plate to cool down for 20 min.


Enjoy!!! your home made, aromatic Rava laddu’s for any occasion.

Note – 

Make laddu’s when the mixture is warm.

Store prepared laddu’s in an air tight container, it remains fresh for 4 to 5 days.

Take care while frying rava and dry fruits do not over burn or under cook the ingredients.

You can add chopped almonds to prepare Rava laddu.

To make easier.  Add cardamom pods and sugar together in a mixer jar, to make a fine powder,
