Silver Fish Rava Fry

Silver fish rava fry is a yummy appetizer, Fish coated with home made masala and deep fried until crisp, This makes an excellent starter for parties, an easy recipe with simple ingredients. Silver fish are the fish to convert someone to eating fish, which has no fishy taste or smell.

Ingredients:

Silver fish – 500 gms

For marination –

Dry Kashmir chilies – 6 no’s

Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 Tsp

Coriander – 1/2 Tsp

Cumin – 1/4 Tsp

Pepper – 10 to 12 corns

Turmeric powder – 1/4 Tsp

Salt

Lemon juice/vinegar – 1 Tsp

Other ingredients –

Corn flour – 2 or 3 Tsp

Rice flour – 1 to 1 1/2 Tsp

Semolina (fine or medium) – 1/4 cup

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Method:

Clean the fish. Rinse it and keep ready.

Add all the ingredients to grind to a mixer jar, grind it to a super fine paste. by adding water to grind.

Apply it to the cleaned fish, allow it to marinate for 1 hr.

After marination add corn flour and rice flour, mix properly

Heat oil to fry,  (you can shallow fry or deep fry, both taste great, fry as to your desire/choice ) add semolina in a plate, coat each fish properly, arrange it on a plate or drop it in oil directly after coating in rava.

When the oil is ready to fry, drop each fish into it, fry until golden and crisp, it takes about 5 to 6 min to be done when cooked over a medium flame.

Once done, drain the excess oil with a slotted spoon, put it in a kitchen napkin to absorb excess oil in it. Continue the same for rest in one or two batches.
