Chicken Roll Recipe

Preparation Time : 30 min Marination Time : 1 hour Cooking Time : 25 min Serves : 4

Chicken roll is a yummy dish which can be prepared easily at home with simple ingredients, a perfect dish for kids lunch box, a healthy dish prepared with grated carrot, cabbage, capsicum, chicken … with mayonnaise makes a tasty dish to serve as a breakfast or as an evening snack. 


For marination –


Boneless chicken – 300 gm cut into small cubes

Chilly powder – 1/2 tsp

Turmeric – 1/4 tsp

Lemon juice – 1 tsp

Yogurt – 1/2 cup


To prepare Dough –


Wheat flour – 1 cup

Maida/all purpose flour – 1 cup

Oil- 1 tsp


Water to knead

For stuffing –


Onion – 1 or 2 finely chopped

Ginger garlic paste – 1/4 tsp optional

Carrot – 2 no’s grated

Capsicum – 1/2 chopped

Cabbage – 1 cup finely chopped

Garam masala – 2 pinch

Pepper powder – 1/4 tsp

Salt to taste

Chopped coriander – 2 tbs

To make Mayonnaise dip/sauce – 


Mayonnaise – 1/2 cup

Grated garlic – 1/4 tsp

White Sesame – 1/2 tsp dry roasted

Yogurt – 2 tsp (optional)








Rinse chicken in water, drain the water in it, add all the ingredients to marinade, keep aside for 1 hour.

Add wheat flour, maida and salt mix it, add water, knead it to a dough, add oil and knead it again for 5 min and keep aside.


After marination cook chicken in a medium flame until chicken done, until  water in the chicken gets absorbed completely, it takes about 6 to 7 min.


Remove the cooked chicken and set aside, in the same pan add oil, when it is hot add onion, fry until it turns to translucent, add ginger garlic paste fry until the raw smell evaporates from it. (You can add a egg and fry until it get scrambled) Add grated capsicum saute for a while, add grated carrot and cabbage saute for a while, add cooked chicken into it, toss it


Add garam masala powder, pepper powder and salt, toss it well remove from the flame.


Add chopped coriander. Toss it, the stuffing is ready.

Dry roast sesame seeds until it splutter’s, remove from the flame, crush it coarsely, take a bowl, add mayonnaise, grated garlic, salt and coarsely powdered sesame seeds,  mix it well and keep ready.


Knead the dough once again, Dived it to equal size medium balls, take a ball, roll it to round shape roti. Heat a flat pan, when it is ready place prepared roti on it,  apply oil for both sides, cook  in a medium flame until done, flip to the other side, cook until done.

Keep all the ingredients handy,


Place prepared roti on a plate, apply/ spread mayonnaise sauce over it,


Add stuffing on it, add mayonnaise mixture on it, (sprinkle a pinch of chaat masala if you like)


Roll it tightly with a aluminium foil sheet,


Serve hot and Enjoy!!!
